I bought the NAD-306 as my first amplifier. I felt in love for the total absence of frills. It does a great job, coupled with a pair of Infinity Reference 40 (3 ways) and a Pioneer PDS-801. Also in this price band a good wiring pays. Analitycal enough to make you imagine the fingers on the guitar chords.

Used to take about 2 minutes to ‘click’ on from cold, but it has now got to the point where I’m afraid to turn it of for fear that it won’t come on again! Also, once it is on, it randomly makes buzzing relay sounds and clicks off again. Most annoying. So, need to replace it before it makes a large dent in the road outside!
