When did the Onkyo tx-8050 network stereo come out?
Same for an Acurus DIA-100 from 1992, a Yamaha (R-V701) I picked up in 1997 and a Denon (AVR-1707) acquired in 2005. Surely Onkyo can do better than this.
Is the Onkyo tx-8270 compatible with bi wiring?
I currently have the Onkyo TX-8270 stereo amplifier and I’ve recently purchased a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 300’s, but the TX-8270 does not support bi wiring which is a shame as I want to get the best out of the speakers.

How to check if your Onkyo tx-8050 is up to date?
To Check if your firmware is up to date, go into Setup -> Hardware Setup -> Firmware Update and check the 16-digit number (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx). If any numbers differ from the latest version available, please update your unit. Please read the update instructions carefully before beginning. The firmware update should take 30 to 40 minutes.

A firmware update is now available through USB ONLYon the TX-8050 . To check if your firmware is the latest version, go in to Setup -> Hardware Setup -> Firmware Update and check the 16 digit number.
