Is there an upgrade to the Bose SoundDock?

Bose used to do an upgrade and maybe still do, but it was about £90 and that was a couple of years ago. My SoundDock is the original model, type A as Invebo call it. The same company also do an upgrade that not only sorts out the 5v charge issue but adds in Bluetooth A2DP option for an extra £30.

Not sure if its really needed TBH as with the iPhone, its only going to deplete battery life, so why not shove it in the dock and charge at the same time.
