The Onkyo receiver is part of an HT system, HT-R590. After a month or so I first noticed that while the SAT/CAB input for HDMI on the receiver was set to ‘pass through’, nevertheless, when the receiver was off, occasionally when trying to turn on only the cable box and TV one got video on the HDTV (Mitsubishi WD-82740) but no sound.

Is there a 2 year warrantee on the tx-nr609?
I am suspicious that this occurred just 1 month outside the 2 year warrantee; the same fault and time-period reported by many others (mainly in USA forums). This seems to be a fundamental flaw in the TX-NR609 design. I have reported the fault to Onkyo but to date have had no joy.
