Is the Yamaha RX V592 a good audio receiver?
Nice amp , tuner is a little weak , ok for background listening. I hooked it up to Kef k 160 speakers and a fisher fm 2121 tuner. Wow. Nice stereo image with plenty of bass.i got this below 100 $ and is worth every penny.i used it in stereo with no sound effects or loudness.i dont know about the theater functions.

Is the Yamaha RX 585 S2 a good receiver?
A re-review with some modern updates. B & W 585 S2’s still in a 2 channel setup, Raspberry Pi B+ with and IQaudio DAC to add in modern streaming with lossless support. Sounds super. The B & W’s though are smaller and take more power to drive them, and given a smaller cabinet you can’t complain… Wow. The detail and range of field are great.

It doesn’t have a good sound quality, The DSP modes in general, for ppl who know about music, is useless!!! except I guess for techno music or disco, which is a synthetic sound, where quality isn’t relevant what so ever.

The Yamaha amp delivers what you need to drive em. Other… Will use my single infinity for a center channel and likely round out the kit with some tekton Enzo’s, JBL Studio 580s…Or Infinitys…Harman makes a good speaker… and stand behind recommending this amp paired up with em.
