Is the Bose sound dock worth the money?
While it may be hard to hide for some, it also allows the dock to be smaller and free of interference from the power supply which would otherwise be inside the dock itself. New, the Bose system doesn’t present great value for money as it really only plays music from an input source and charges apple products. For some people, this is all they need.

Well, I was given a broken Bose SoundDock a while back. It went “shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”- (silence) when turned on. The “sh” noise lasted only a few seconds. No music, no sound once it fell silent.
Why are my iPods not compatible with Bose sound docks?
Clearly, what this means is that Apple has modified the iPod software in one of its updates, and it makes iPods incompatible with Bose Sound Docks. Poor programming to say the least. I tried getting a hold of the Senior Apple Tech as I said I would, but after leaving a message for him to call me back, he never did.
Can a shuffle play on a Bose dock?

Why are Bose sound docks no longer compatible with Apple?
– All software/OS on the Apple products is current as of Dec 2013. – The Bose product doesn’t have update-able software associated with it. – Clearly, something has changed with the Apple products. What can be done to fix this so that iPhones and iPods will play again on Bose products?

Is there a SoundDock 3 with Apple Lightning?
I purchased the Bluetooth SoundLink III but it was no comparison with volume & amplification. If not concerned with portability, get the SoundDock III. The III also has a secondary jack, so if/when the Apple Lightning connector fails, there is a backup connection.
Do you have to plug in headphone jack for Bose SoundDock?
There is an Aux connector to connect it from the headphone jack, but you have to plug it separately to charge the phone. Nevertheless, it’s a great docking sound system. I am thinking of getting one for myself.
