Ideally it should support multichannel 7.1 bitstreamed Dolby TrueHD (including Atmos) and multichannel 7.1 bitstreamed DTS-HD MA (incuding Auro3D and DTS:X). Without bitstreaming, the metadata needed for 3D audio doesn’t get through to the AVR for decoding.
